SUMMARY:Boundaries: When Saying No Feels Hard
DESCRIPTION:Boundaries: When Saying No Feels Hard\nPractical skills for setting\, communicating and holding boundaries. \nRegistration open to Ontario residents 18+ ONLY | Early Bird10% off until Sept 30\, 2026 – Get tickets here \nKnowing that you’re allowed to have boundaries and actually setting them can be two very different things. \nYou might know you don’t want to take something on\, but find yourself saying yes anyway. You may set a limit and then question whether you were too harsh\, explain yourself over and over\, or change your mind when someone is disappointed. Sometimes the hardest part isn’t knowing that you need a boundary. It’s figuring out what that boundary should look like\, communicating it clearly\, and holding it when things get uncomfortable. \nBoundaries: When Saying No Feels Hard is a practical 90-minute virtual workshop exploring how to set and communicate boundaries in everyday relationships\, without treating boundaries as walls\, ultimatums or a way to control other people. \nWhat We’ll Explore\n\nWhat boundaries actually are (and aren’t): The difference between a boundary\, request\, expectation and attempt to control someone else.\nRecognizing when a boundary may be needed: Getting clearer about your own limits and noticing when something isn’t working for you.\nWhy setting boundaries can feel so difficult: Exploring guilt\, fear of disappointing others and familiar relationship patterns that can make saying no harder.\nCommunicating boundaries clearly: Learning to express your limits without feeling like you need to justify or overexplain every decision.\nNavigating pushback and discomfort: What to do when someone doesn’t agree with or like your boundary.\nHolding a boundary after you’ve communicated it: Staying focused on what is within your control when a boundary is challenged.\nBoundaries and connection: Creating room for flexibility\, care and healthy relationships without continually overriding your own limits.\n\nThis workshop isn’t about becoming better at saying no to everything or creating distance from the people in your life. Boundaries can help us make more intentional choices about what we can offer\, what we’re comfortable with and how we want to participate in our relationships. \nYou may still feel guilty. Someone may still be disappointed. The goal isn’t to eliminate every uncomfortable feeling or reaction. It’s to build the skills to recognize your limits\, communicate them with greater clarity\, and decide how you want to respond when those limits are challenged. \nWhether boundaries feel difficult with family\, partners\, friends\, at work or across different areas of your life\, you’ll leave with practical strategies you can begin applying right away. \nWednesday\, November 18\, 2026 | 7:00 to 8:30 PM\nLive Virtual Workshop | Replay Included | $60 HST included \nRegistration open to Ontario residents 18+ ONLY \nEarly Bird10% off until Sept 30\, 2026 – Get tickets here \nAbout the Facilitator\nKameela Osman\, MSW\, RSW\, EMDR-C\, PMH-C\, is a Social Worker & Psychotherapist and founder of Elite Counselling & Consulting Services in Bowmanville\, Ontario. With nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field\, Kameela brings an evidence-informed\, practical approach to helping people better understand themselves\, their relationships and the patterns that can make change feel difficult. \nThis is an educational workshop and is not a substitute for psychotherapy or individualized mental health care.
