Exploring BIPOC Perinatal Mental Health: Trauma-Informed Practices

September 25, 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
$25

Facilitated by Dr. Pavna Sodhi, EdD, RP and Kameela Osman, MSW, RSW, PMH-C

This 1.5-hour workshop explores the complex and often overlooked intersections of culture, trauma, and perinatal mental health in BIPOC communities. Together, we will examine how cultural expectations, fertility pressures, and intergenerational trauma shape the emotional and mental well-being of BIPOC women throughout the perinatal period, from preconception through postpartum.

Through a trauma-informed lens, Dr. Pavna Sodhi and Kameela Osman will guide a conversation that validates lived experiences while offering practical tools and insights. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how inherited narratives, systemic pressures, and embodied stress responses impact mental health, and how we can begin to shift these patterns toward healing.
